The acceptance list has been released for the 2023 StableGround Australian Dressage Championships (12-15 October) at Boneo Park in Victoria.

This year’s Grand Prix CDI-W is set to feature 16 combinations, including last year’s Australian Grand Prix Champions, Jessica Dertell and Cennin. David McKinnon and Forlan, the recent Grand Prix winners from the NSW Dressage Championships, are also set to compete, while Melissa Galloway and Windermere J’Obei W – 2022 FEI World Championship competitors for New Zealand – will give the class some international flavour.

This year’s CDI-W Pacific League Final winners, Charlotte Phillips and CP Dresden, as well as the runners-up, Kerry Mack and Mayfield Limelight, join the field, alongside 2022 Victorian Dressage Festival GP Freestyle winners Pauline Carnovale and Captain Cooks.

Two Olympians are also in the field, with six-time Olympian Mary Hanna entering her new Grand Prix horse Ivanhoe, and Sue Hearn with two entrants in Eminent and Galaxy. 2018 World Equestrian Games competitor Alexis Hellyer will saddle up Daenarys, while partner Elliot Patterson is riding Del Piero ZF. Michelle Baker and Bradgate Park Puccini, Breanna Tillitzki and BZ Rafael, Alinta Veenvliet and Desperanza, Justine Greer and Yarramee Fonzie, and Jodie Dunstan with Hollands Bend Highlander round out a strong field that is going to no doubt make for exciting viewing. The CDI-W Grand Prix is an opportunity for combinations to post a qualifying score for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The Championships are also a qualifying event for the 2024 Paris Paralympics, and a huge field of 37 combinations are entered across the five para dressage grades. It’s fantastic to see such a strong entry list, and these classes will be hotly contested!

With open and pony classes offered across Novice, Elementary, Medium, Advanced and Small Tour levels, as well as a Medium Tour Championship, Big Tour CDN classes, CDI-U25, CDI-Y, CDI-J, CDI-Ch and CDI-P on offer, the 2023 StableGround Australian Dressage Championships are a not-to-be-missed event.
