Scone gallant in Quarter Finals defeat

Scone Polo International’s run at the British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup has come to an end in the Quarter Finals, with the team going down in a narrow loss to Park Place (8-11).

It has been an exciting tournament for Scone, who won three of their four qualifying matches to finish those rounds in the top eight teams – thereby securing a Quarter Finals berth.

Congratulations to Adolfo Cambiaso, Poroto Cambiaso, David Paradice and Matias Gonzalez on a great effort at what is one of Europe’s premier high-goal polo tournaments. Scone Polo International have been sponsored throughout the event by iconic Australian outwear apparel brand Driza-Bone.

In other Quarter Final matches at Cowdray, Dubai beat Green Gates (12-11), Marques de Riscal beat La Magdeleine (7-6), and UAE beat Vikings (13-4). The Semi Finals are set to take place on Wednesday, 19 July where Dubai will face Marques de Riscal and UAE will take on Park Place.

The Final for the Cowdray Gold Cup takes place on Sunday, 23 July.
