Australian rider Hope Beerling is set to compete at the FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses in Ermelo after gaining selection via the US team.

“So excited to be a part of the USA  team for the World Young Horse Championships! A dream come true. A massive thank you to Catherine Haddad Staller and NorCordia for putting my dreams into reality!” said Hope via social media following the announcement.

Hope will ride US-bred Vianne, a 2016 Hanoverian mare owned by NorCordia USA (an equine investment company cofounded and owned by Catherine Haddad Staller in conjunction with Denmark’s Ulrik Clemmensen) in the seven-year-old division. Vianne was bred by Catherine Haddad Staller and is by Vitalis out of Raureif (Ramiro’s Bube).

Hope and Vianne have scored as high as 77.772% in CDI-YH classes this year.

Hope, 23, moved from Queensland to the US in 2019 to train with Catherine Haddad Staller and since enjoyed success on the US circuit with several horses. She competed on the Australian Nations Cup team this year at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, Florida, with Small Tour horse Uno Elando.

Talking previously to Equestrian Life about Vianne, Hope explained that she actually broke the mare in as a three-year-old when she first travelled to the US and has been fortunate to train her ever since. Hope has said she believes the stunning grey has what it takes to be an Olympic mount.

Competition at the 2023 FEI WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses will take place in Ermelo, The Netherlands from 3-6 August. The seven-year-olds will compete in their qualification class on Friday, August 4, aiming to qualify for their final on Sunday, August 6.

The Australian team was announced last week and includes Simone Pearce on No Limit in the five-year-old class, Maree Tomkinson and Imagine II in the six-year-old class, and Alicia Ryan riding Australian-bred Merricks Sonique in the seven-year-old class.

Equestrian Life wishes all Australian riders the best of luck!
