The FEI/ WBFSH Dressage World Breeding Championship for Young Horses continued in Ermelo on Friday, with three Australian riders in action.

Hope Beerling finished in the top ten of the First Qualification for 7-Year-Old-Horses with American Hanoverian mare Vianne (Vitalis x Ramiro’s Bube), scoring a PB of 77.234%. Hope is Australian, although at this event she is riding under the US flag with Vianne being American-bred. The pair have now qualified for the 7YO Final on Sunday.

Alicia Ryan, riding the Australian-bred Merricks Sonique (Stedinger 2 x Hardenberg Donnerschwee), scored 69.849% for 31st place. It was fantastic to have an Aussie bred horse competing on the world stage, and what an amazing experience for Alicia. The pair will now contest Saturday’s 7YO Small Final.

The class was won by Denmark’s Anna Kasprzak and Danciero 7 (Dancier x Floriscount OLD) on 83.325%, with Germany’s Leonie Richter and Global Player OLD (Grand Galaxy Win x Don Schufro) second on 83.184%, and fellow German Nicole Wego-Engelmeyer with Diaton 3 (Dimaggio 2x Benneton Dream FEH) third on a score of 83.057%.
