The Eventing Victoria Spring International Horse Trials took place last weekend at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, with large entry numbers across the international two-, three- and four-star classes, as well as the EvA65 to CCN1* classes.
David Middleton and WEC In The Breeze won the BetaVet CCI4*S, finishing on a score of 41.2. Second after the dressage on 34.4, they added just 2 show jumping time faults and 4.8 cross country time faults to their score to lead the field. Both second and third place went to Sam Jeffree, with Koyuna Tactician (56.3) and Wimborne Conjuror (58.2) respectively. The cross country certainly proved an influential phase, with half the field either electing to retire or eliminated.
The Pryde’s EasiFeed CCI3*S went to Luke Jones and off the track Thoroughbred Spirit, finishing on their dressage score of 35.6. Second place went to Bronte Bravo and another OTT in Carisbrooke Showtime (42.1), while Murray Lamperd and Havelock Brandy were third on 42.4.
The Wyndham Accident Repair Centre CCI2*S class was won by Natalie Davies and Camilla Elmare on a dressage score of 28.6. OTTs also featured in this class, with Insidious Ghost, ridden by Audrey Nicolai, placing second on 30.8. Third place went to Edward Darby and Dawn Of The Day on 31.9.
