Dutch one-two set to lead the charge at LGCT of Valkenswaard
The anticipation is building as the equestrian world focuses its attention on the upcoming Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard, set to take place at the iconic Longines Tops International Arena from August 18 to 20. This 13th stage of the season promises a thrilling weekend of world-class show jumping action, coupled with an exciting entertainment lineup, ensuring a fun-filled experience for families and enthusiasts alike.
Highlighting the excitement of the event, the spotlight will shine on two of the Netherlands’ finest talents, Maikel van der Vleuten and Harrie Smolders. The duo are one-two in the current Championship standings heading into their home leg of the race. Their presence at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Valkenswaard is certain to electrify the arena as the battle reaches it climax in Holland.
Hot on their tails world number one Henrik von Eckermann will be vying for his second LGCT Grand Prix win of the year. But with 9 out of the top 10 of the Championship standings present in Valkenswaard, it will be a tough challenge against the likes of, Christian Kukuk, Simon Delestre, Pieter Devos, Edwina Tops-Alexander, Malin Bayard Johnsson and Julien Epillard.

Daniel Deusser will be looking for his first LGCT Grand Prix win this season alongside Laura Kraut, Marlon Zanotelli, Ben Maher, Marcus Ehning, Scott Brash, Peder Fredricson and Lorenzo de Luca.
Home favourites will be front and center in Valkenswaard as the likes of Frank Schuttert, Johnny Pals, Jur Vrieling, Leopold van Asten, Sanne Thijssen, Mark Houtzager and Lars Kersten all take center stage for the crowd to cheer on.
The Longines Tops International Arena, renowned for its breathtaking atmosphere and world-class facilities, will play host to this exhilarating competition.
