Shane Rose and Easy Turn claim inaugural Willinga Park CCI4*S

Shane Rose and Easy Turn have won the CCI4*S at Willinga Park’s inaugural international eventing competition over the weekend, 

backing up their recent win at Canberra CCI4*S.

4CYTE Eventing@Willinga got underway with the dressage and jumping phases scheduled on Saturday, followed by an influential day of cross country run on Sunday at the world-class venue in Bawley Point, NSW.

Shane and Easy Turn were fourth after the dressage on a score of 29 in the CCI4*S, before adding 6.8 time faults to their score as the quickest combination on course to finish at the top of the leaderboard on 35.8.

Andrew Barnett and Go Tosca were second on 42.9, while Andrew Cooper and Pepper Jack were third on 58.2. The cross country caught a few out, with around half the field – including a few highly credentialled combinations – picking up jumping faults, while a number of combinations were either eliminated or elected to retire on course.

The CCI3*S went to Sam Woods and SS Eight Count on 33.2 after adding just 32.2 cross country time faults to their dressage score, with Shenae Lowings and Chasing Great second on 34.8 and Olivia Barton third with APH Sodoku on 37.5.

Christine Bates and Bloomfield Findon won the CCI2*S on 29.4, with Oliva Shore second riding Eliva Castana (31.7) and Hannah Klep third with Kenlock Sandro Sky (32.3).

In the CCN1*S, Georgia Spangaro and Lord Wimborne claimed the win on their dressage score of 26.8, with Judith Clarke and Oaks Quasimodo second (28.3) and Jess Somerfield riding Mythology Of Freya third (30.3).
